This document will help guide you through the key elements of buying a Twin Cessna aircraft.

While every purchase is unique, this is designed to help you focus on the most important elements of any good search and give you tools to find the best aircraft for your mission. This resource is designed to be used with many other resources within the Twin Cessna Flyer, such as our maintenance information and model performance information.

Before Searching

Understand the mission profile using the TTCF buyer questionnaire
Talk with knowledgeable maintenance facility & read TCF maintenance information
Review the performance information for each model to ensure you understand real-world performance expectations
Establish Budget
Establish insurance and ensure you can obtain it
Make priority list
Understand & schedule required training
Research and understand the market and correct values for model type

Search Process

Are all logs present and available?
Does the aircraft, engine, prop, etc. times all coordinate throughout the logs?
Completion of last annual?
Note date of engine overhauls
Note the last major avionics, paint and interior upgrades
If possible, obtain an AD Note listing and verify compliance with required AD’s

Questionnaire

The questionnaire is designed to help guide you in asking the right questions of yourself before you begin your search for a Twin Cessna. Follow at the beginning of the process and it will help you complete tasks listed in the Checklist portion of this guide. Be honest with your answers and ensure to ask yourself whether these answers apply to the MAJORITY of your flying, not just the occasional trips.

Usual Number of passengers?

How long do you plan to own this aircraft?

Do you have a multi-engine rating? If so, how many hours do you have?

Have you established insurance? If so, what are training requirements and whats cost?

What is your budget?

If yes, will you be financing or paying cash?

Do you have funds available after acquisition for upgrades & reserves? How Much?

What are the first two most important priorities to you in an aircraft (I.e. Engine times/type, avionics, Paint & Interior, etc)?
