Wondering what is typical for oil temps on these 520’s. I’m seeing a top around 178 F and about a 10 degree split between left and right engine.

When I had 178F on the right I saw 168 F on the left.

Here is a link to my flight it’s the 7/2/2014 flight with a Hi CHT alert.

Oh, you have to select R-TIT and L-TIT to see oil temps because the shop reversed the Oil temp and TIT on both engines (currently under work to fix)

I don’t know what is typical, but those temps are pretty well near perfect.

The vernatherm that TCM uses is set to 175 to 180 degrees at the factory so you are right in the ballpark. The temps will go higher on a real hot day and steep climbout. Actually an oil temp around 180 degrees is ideal as that helps get all the engine parts up to temp and the right thermal expansion for maximum compression and combustion.
