Who would be interested in a group buy of a pair of American Aviation Intercooler. I am seriously considering, they have to manufacture once off for me, so several definitely would mean a reasonable price. They are STCed for the T303.

So what is the number? Where does it mount? What are the performance numbers?

      and certainly

Much higher (no???) critical altitude, thus much better climb performance at altitude
      SIGNIFICANTLY increased detonation margin
      Cooler CHTs
      Better LOP ops.
Longer engine life at similar power (not manifold pressure) settings.

Yes i would be interested in knowing more. I enquired a year or so ago and was told the cost would be prohibitive.

I could not find anything about the STC, are you sure there is one? If not, it would be prohibitavely expensive as stated by another member…

        #96968

        1) confirmed there is an STC.
        2) Was quoted 25k for a one off, if we are 3 I am sure it will be quite a bit less for each.
        3) Lead time 120-180 days.
Please let me know who is seriously interested and I ask for a quote for the number we are.
        Kind Regards

I was curious about this and emailed Jim Christy at American Aviation. Here is his response as of today:

          Hi Bob,
We do have an stc but the tooling was at a company that went out of business and the new owners say it must have been scrapped, so we can’t deliver any.

          Jim

I run my 303 at 24″ and 2350 RPM LOP with fuel burn of 11 per side. It runs pretty cool at these settings.

Yep, got the same response. What a pity. 😥
