A few days ago on a flight from MMVR to MMTO in solid IMC this shows up on SVT at FL220. Never got a visual on it. The MSA in this area is 20K. I am really happy to have SVT around these parts flying IFR.
I view that as the real advantage. We figure that ATC does their job, but there are certainly plenty of NTSB reports where CFIT occurred because of either incorrect or misunderstood directions from ATC.
