Children’s Flight of Hope operates a RAM VII 414A with an empty weight of 5392. I am wondering how that compares to the BEW of other comparable 414As out there. I would love to hear from other owners and operators the empty weights of their airplanes for comparison.
I have just had my 414A weighed yesterday and was 5127.5 pounds arm 156.55 inches.
The aircraft has just had the SID’s done as well as a full strip and paint, new leather interior and some upgraded avionics and even though we removed the old DME, NAV RMI and heaps of old cables and left out most of the curatins it seems to have gained 60 pounds.
Thanks for the reports on empty weights of other 414A aircraft.
To follow up on my earlier post, our 1980 414A RAM VII has a BEW of 5392. Since we always fly with two pilots, we can put 100 pounds in the cabin with full fuel, which means we can almost never take full fuel. Since most of our legs are two or three and a half hours, this presents multiple opportunities to screw up.
