      Good morning everyone,

Are most people using Alcohol or Prist for cold weather flying? If Alcohol, where can you buy 99.9% Alcohol that meets TT-I-735a specs?

      Thanks

We are using low flow prist, simply because it comes in small canisters with mixing volume instructions and is easy to mix properly while fueling. It is easy to carry a few with us.

Have you had any problems with the prist eroding your fuel tank and associated hoses? It looks like it uses .15% by volume? Thanks for the reply.

We are selective on when we use Prist. We usually do not use additional Prist on fueling a return flight, as we know there is still some in the fuel that is left. We want to be very careful not to over-Prist. We know you don’t want to store a plane for extended periods with Prist or probably alcohol for that matter. This is our first winter with the 421 – it never seemed to cause an issue in our 58 Baron. And yes, that is the correct mixture. It is clearly marked on the canisters.
