I found a clip type mount in RAM the goes on the edge of your glareshield. Works great and very flexible for locating

There seems to be an overwhelming choice to pick from. I think I want a yolk mount but no sure which one to buy

I have used a Ram suction mount on my pilot window. I have a yoke mount for my iPhone as I have a Stratus 2 and I use my iPhone as a backup attitude indicator when flying IFR in the soup. Go to the magazine issues and look at the cover of October 2013. You can see how I have set up my ipad and iPhone. I got my mounts from Mygoflight.com.

Mine is on a ball mount, which is screwed to the panel and positions the iPad mini to the left of the ASI and TC. Fits nicely and is easy to access and see. I don’t like control wheel mounts for anything bigger than a 496. Personal preference if I can make it work.

        +1 Ram Yoke mount

IMHO, if the mini IPad is not in or near your line of sight, it’s not as useful.
